The workers labor in many occupations, linked with supplying trains traffic, associated with numerous unhealthy occupational factors, including exposure to carcinogens in workplace air. Prevention of unhealthy effects of carcinogens on workplace is very important to prophylaxis for occupational cancer and impossible without regular laboratory monitoring. In 2005–2007 15 carcinogenic substances was controlled in workplace air by Centralized Sanitary-Hygienic Laboratory of Public Institution «SES on South-West Railway» on supervised plants. About 12–37 % of total amount of collected samples was tested on carcinogenic substances. Portion of samples that not meets the sanitary standards was substantially greater than same portion of all collected samples. The concentrations of wood dust, epichlorohydrine and lead in majority of samples were greater than sanitary standards.
