FIXING OF RETENTION TIMES: MAIN PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATION - article

The main principles and examples of use of the method fixing of retention times (Retention Time Locking, RTL) in gas chromatography are described. RTL simplifies process of transmission GC-methods from chromatograph on chromatograph, from a column on a column and from the detector on the detector. As an example for demonstration of efficiency of the approach results of the analysis of styrene on the contents of impurities according to technique         D 5135 ASTM are used. At use RTL in a mode of constant pressure of value of retention times differed on the average no more, than on 0,16 % (0,02–0,03 min).
